Nov. 29th, 2002 07:44 pmAs the place gets 'emptier,' and more stuff is fitted into boxes, the echo becomes more pronounced. Even at my desk, the clack of keys is hitting against the wall and against the file cabinet and the floor.
It is a profoundly lonely feeling.
All books that were in the bookcase are now boxed. Dining room table has been taken apart, dining room rug vacuumed and spot-cleaned.
I am hoping for an assembly-line move tomorrow.
I am seriously trying to keep calm, and it's working, as I have done an immense amount today, in spite of taking a very unsatisfying nap earlier this afternoon. I am taking little breaks because my whole body aches. I might take a trip over to the new place soon to bring my plants and the large area rugs.
I have bruises on my forearms from carrying boxes and lifting overly-large things.
It is a Friday night, and my date is with a cardboard box.
Sigh.
