entelein: (labyrinth)

My head/ears have been ringing most of the afternoon, now. The lab (and, indeed, most of the building it's in) has had problems with ventilation and heating, and so we've been slowly sweltering for the past few days. Well, yesterday wasn't so bad, but today I really felt sleepy and tired. I looked it, too: I went down the hall to the bathroom, grateful for an excuse to get into a batch of cooler air, and was a little shocked at the old person looking back at me from the mirror. Sigh.

I feel dorky and worn out, now. But, most of the laundry is now officially caught up from moving in (I am still unearthing boxes with the random towel or sheet used as packing padding, see), there is a full load of dishes washing, and I am about to create something dinner-like.

There is an odd, niggling feeling in the back of my brain about how much less stress I am generally under now than I was just a few short months ago, and it's actually making me a bit anxious. I suppose it's a bit of the ol' The Other Shoe Syndrome, but I also think the impending holidays have given me a bit of ennui as well.

Although, I will say that I am wearing my I Believe In Harvey Dent t-shirt, and that makes me happy.

I have no real reason to be anxious, especially as this is my big money-making month of the year and I haven't spent a holiday with anyone but John for twenty-plus years, so there's no family weirdness or absence to work on me...but I feel unaccountably anxious anyway. 'Tis the season, bebe.
