I'm feeling a bit melancholy tonight, a bit selfish.

I want something cool to happen, dammit. Not even something lasting; just a bit of serendipity, a surprise connection, a tiny taste of possibility, of the here and now.

Every now and then, the ice cream cart rattles on by, jingling out into the locust sound car honk street rush domestic noise of this fast-deepening twilight.

Spring fever, and here I am, in the depths of July.

yea, one of those. The nice Mexican that sells them around here calls them Patriot Pops. Figures I would get the off-brand version of it...
