One thing, just one thing is making today so much shinier:

A book with 218 pages, and a very glossy black cover is sitting to the left of my keyboard right this very moment. There is a mysterious green symbol on the front. My fingerprints are already all over it, smudgy and real (and real smudgy :) ).

Inside is a recap of several players' journey through Project Mu (AKA Metacortechs, an ARG I helped create a few years ago), lovingly written and documented, now in book form. It humbles me. It's like, here's proof, proof that a bunch of us were part of something mysterious and exciting and fun. I can flip through and put it down and pick it back up, and it's still there.

It's beautiful. Really, really beautiful.

Is that this book (http://www.metaurchins.org/)? Did they actually make a print version?

Yes! and yes!

There are some plans in the works for it, so I sorta hope I haven't messed anything up by posting about my copy ...

You haven't messed up anything. We didn't have a grand plan of any kind in terms of announcing its existence (although maybe we should have ... hmm), so this is as good a place as any to write it first.

Yep, it is a print version of the Project Mu Archives that Brian linked above. All proceeds from its sale will support UnFiction. Space and imbri have their hands on the alpha version, krystyn and a party to be named later (although given that I had to ask for an address a few days ago is not likely to be surprised as Krystyn was) are receiving betas. Once we're totally happy with the beta, it will be available to all.

The fact that it has made your day shinier Krystyn has made my day quite a bit shinier too :)

it is!

Giskard handed Space and I prototype versions on Oct. 1 and it's been absolutely killing me being quiet about it while all the various details and bits were finalized so I'm glad it's finally been announced (linky krystyn! linky!). It's in print and proceeds from the sale will be going to unfiction (yay!).

They did an unbelievable job of it all and kyrstyn is right - It's beautiful. Really, really beautiful.

I got terribly weepy at the Reception desk, because I so wasn't expecting that. The head Office Services dude came by, and asked if I wanted to take a package here, or have him leave it at my desk, and I was like, "Dude, it's a surprise, so I will take it here!"

So glad I did, and SO GLAD no one was around to see me all grinny and sniffly.

:)

Yeah, it's really cool to like hold it and everything isn't it! I bet our solid streams of nothing but "wow" and "just wow" make a bit more sense now.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the envy I felt. :) A good envy, though, cos I knew I would at LEAST buy my own copy, if not a copy for like, everyone in my family.

It really is a "wow" experience. It's really so beautiful.

*waves frantically*

Adopt me! Adopt me!!

Seriously...I'm going to have to put it on my christmas list. Once an ordering link goes live, post about it and I'll send it to the Keeper Of The Christmas Lists. If I tell them it's something I was part of, maybe this year they'll actually READ the list and follow it.

but then, you knew that all along right? :)

Savor a moment that you worked very hard to bring into reality. May this be the first trickle in a coming torrent of newly found good fortune.

But now I have this physical thing I can look at and touch any time I want. It's lovely.
