There are so many people who are always cold and I tell them that I'm always hot and they say that they wish they were me and I say to them:
"But you're a fucking idiot! You can always put on more clothes when you're cold. But when you're naked and still sweating, what are you gonna do, peel your skin off?"
EXACTLY! People never seem to get that. That, and while cold makes my hands hurt (I inherited poor circulation from my mother), excessive heat makes me want to throw up and generally feel extremely sick. At least I can warm up my hands when they're cold.
Yeah, but sometimes even the clothes don't work! I sit in my office with my vent closed and a SPACE HEATER on; it's July and about 110 outside right now, and my toes and hands are still like ice. Plus, cold creates an incredible amount of tension; if you were to ever rub my shoulders, it's a series of rather fabulous knots!
I guess you CAN always wear more clothes and turn on more heat, but still ... the constant shivering, the muscles that never relax, the fact that every time you stick your feet on someone they're like DEAR GOD, WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU, YOU LIZARD!! ... it is a sad, sad world for the frigid people. XD
The heat gets to me, but I think sometimes it's the fact that it's such an extreme change that it shocks my system, and I spend so much time recovering from it that I end up cranky and overtired.
Put that with the allergies I get, and you've got one miserable girl.
I don't even like air conditioning all that much, because I get too cold, and changing climates like this all throughout the day is terrible for my immune system (read: sensitivity to allergens).
Ugh. Well, I hope having peeps around helps cheer you up this weekend, even if it adds another level of stress to the mix. Hopefully there'll be enough of us that can take care of ourselves and others that you won't be as stressed as you were for Hivemeet.
DUDE. Have we talked about this? Because I totally tell people that I want to hibernate once July hits, and people are totally perplexed and I just say, "Me, cool drinks, video games. See you in September."
In sweltering India, everyone heads to the mountains (hill stations), where it is a good deal cooler and more pleasant. Those British knew how to beat the heat.
Where can we go when we're stuck in our lives? It's so unfair.
I am a cranky boots too. I am trying to do as little as possible today to avoid overheating.
I had to go to a function in "Sylmar" on Saturday - which is high desert. Let me just say this -- i am one of those "always cold" people and I felt like my body was expanding so fast trying to cool itself down that I felt like I was going to turn into pink mist at any moment. NOT EVEN A COLD DIET SODA WOULD HELP IT. I drove to my friends (comma) yuri & tara's house afterwards where they administered about 14 Arnold Palmers before I was anywhere back to normal.
