new york state of mind
Jul. 25th, 2005 10:53 pmI am home, after many delays. I did not get to call non-ARG people during the weekend, so I apologize for not being able to connect with them. A lot of my time was spent trying to coordinate getting from Washington Heights to Penn Station over the course of four days, so I didn't end up having much slush time.
Mom drove me in from the airport in her nice air conditioned car, and gave me a bag with the most recent Gourmet magazine, a few slices of cheesecake, and two cucumbers from her garden. She bought extra water bowls for the cats, and left cash on my kitchen table because she felt bad for turning on the A/C, because we actually went into heat emergency here in Chicago while I was gone. She's so goofy.
I feel sad, and I dunno. I think I had a really, really good weekend. I was so nervous, though, and worried. I wonder if other people had a good time, you know? So many people I FINALLY met, after so many years. We have a history. We've all been through so much, as a community of gamers/fiction lovers/puzzlers. This felt good, to get some more anchors in place, because we are likely in for some high tide of interest in the genre, the way things are going.
