Sidestepping those dog days
Jul. 1st, 2005 08:11 amThis morning I checked the weather forecast and nearly tripped over my own feet to run into the living room and switch off the AC, and throw open several windows.
Strategic! Let's get the cross-breeze! Let's stand with pleased hands on hips and watch those bedroom curtains flutter inward, revealing the slightly dry plot of yard next door, the cool air washing over me like the most perfect umbrella'd drink or foot massage.
67°F when I walked out the door, with a high of 80°F.
Forgive me, but these past days have been so miserable that this news nearly made me weep for joy.
