Hooray,
heyoka has received her lovely package of happiness. I sent her and
snarl a book, which was mysteriously infested with glass ladybugs. Also present in the box were a few other goodies. It all arrived in the UK, and the book has already been consumed by the most lovely of heyokas, and reviewed on her site.
Cool.
In the meanwhile, I am still entranced and loving every page of
The Eyre Affair. It's one of those books where I know I am going to be sad once it's over. It's also a book that makes me smile out loud on the bus or the train. I want to quote vast passages at you. I might just do that. I might just.
(Edited to add that the website portal for this book,
http://www.thursdaynext.com, was a website that had caused some stir in the
Alternate Reality Gaming community. Dude, I remember these sites, and wondering if there was a game hidden there! I am so glad I am now reading the book. How cool. Heh, it's especially fun to see her sportscar. Meh heh heh heh. I am a dork.)
And yesterday evening, as I bussed down to the Magnificent Mile to run an errand for my mom, I stopped by the evil, evil Sephora, which even for a generally unfussy woman like myself is death to a checkbook. I treated myself to a bottle of
l'Occitane's Green Tea perfume. I didn't expect to find this and purchase it, but on a whim I spritzed some of a sample bottle onto the back of my hand: oh! Dude, this is the kind of scent I've been looking for for ages. It's green (duh), it's fresh, it's not cloying. It's this sweet-not-sickly nummy burst of scent, and so I thought, "well, um, yeah, I deserve it."
I guess I do. I dunno. I love the smell, though. It's just right.
It's time to do some grocery shopping, methinks.
