Leftover Heaven
Mar. 25th, 2002 06:08 pmPork chops and smashed potatoes.
Tizzy's leftover fish.
Mmmmmm.
We had gone to Lincoln Tavern on Friday for their dinner, and it was so good. It was also so enormous that we ended up putting most of our entrees into takeaway containers and we brought them back to my apartment. Erin was smart and got the duck, which, while a decent and delicious meal, was not nearly as sizeable as the platters Tiz and I ordered.
It's hard not to take home stuff from the Tavern: by the time you have the sauteed Polish sausage slices and the fresh baked bread and the soup or salad, the entree is an humongous afterthought. We were stuffed, and only managed a few spoonfuls of The Full Vermonty for photographic purposes before we stuck the rest back into the freezer.
So today, after an excellently long conversation on the phone with my friend Andy, I brought out the styrofoam containers, dumped their yummy contents onto a plate, and nuked 'em gently until sizzly warm all over. It's helping to cure the hunger headache I've had for a couple hours now.
There's so much fish, though! It makes me think Tizzy didn't have any!
