Jun. 20th, 2004 10:19 pmOpening Night:
- Weren't called for places (well, not really, anyway). Orchestra started without us, we scrambled on stage and were extremely rattled.
- Rapunzel's Prince missed a cue, and so we skipped that scene.
- In general, the show felt like a disaster.
Friday Night:
- In general, much less of a disaster than opening.
- Except, the set fell on a few of us.
- It was a very light piece of setting - a canvas flat.
- It was my fault, as I guess I kicked it when the three of us fell to the floor.
- I heard the audience gasp and then giggle, before I felt and heard the whoomph of the flat covering us.
- I casually and carefully sat up, pushed the set back into place, and then went back into my frozen fallen position.
- When our scene came up, we unfroze, I dusted myself off, and scolded the set. It got a nice laugh, and I was able to move on.
- My mom and her husband were there, and they liked the show. They liked when the set fell on us. They thought it was funny.
- I did, too.
Saturday Night:
- Best night yet.
- Big audience.
- No major goofs.
- I still loathe my wireless mike, but as it enables the audience to hear me above the orchestra, I put up with its unbalanced mess.
- Stepped on the Stepmother's dress during the Act II Finale, and then the Baker wiped out immediately after, pulling Cinderella down with him a moment later so she could help him up. Everyone was OK, but it was seriously alarming for about 5 seconds.
- Svet, Erin, and Glenn came to see the show. Sweet!
One more weekend, and then I have a small break to wait out the worst of the summer until late August, when I start work on another show.
It feels good to be so busy.
