Oct. 17th, 2003 04:41 pmTaking little tiny naps in my office on my morning and afternoon breaks has brought a surreal edge to my day.
I feel oddly placid - you can see the tiredness in my eyes - they look slightly glassy, but not stressed, exactly. I feel as if I am moving smoothly through space, ripples of quietness moving out from me.
I have a long side sleeper pillow in my office, and I bend it in half and I wrap my arms around it and I lean my head on my desk. Today I was able to pass out twice, quite easily, and I either didn't remember dreams, or didn't sink deeply enough to get some serious REM activity going.
All I knew, for ten minutes at a stretch, was sweet oblivion.
I won't get to sleep in until Saturday/Sunday. I can't wait.
