Feb. 27th, 2003 01:17 pmIn other news, things are going well.
Svet and I were extremely cranky with one another the other night, and so I offered to take her out to dinner. We sat at a table in Tokyo Marina and feasted on gyoza and tempura and sushi, and I grabbed the rest of her blob of wasabi and added it to my own - my sinuses burned and cleared, and I spent most of my meal with eyes closed, relishing the absolutely tender salmon and the light glaze of sauce on the eel pieces. We laughed a lot, and I felt like we both overcame some hurdle, some bundle of stress.
My job is also going well. I am still stuck at the front desk, but one of the HR managers called me into his office yesterday and told me that I and a few other people in my department will have a discretionary bonus on our next paycheck.
It's a fairly hefty chunk of change, too. Nice!
The same manager is also working on getting me a raise, in light of all the covering I've had to do since I got this job last May.
It's really supremely nice to be recognized for my efforts.
Anyway, life is good. The temps are almost above freezing, the sun is shining, and I've got my health.
