enteleinAccomplished today:
- sanity, by taking a day to be sick with a headache and sleep it off. I really needed it, and I am glad I did it.
- Moved 4 huge bags of clothes over to the new place
- Also moved 2 bags of stuffed animals to the new place
- Moved fugly sectional couch out to backyard area, along with several pieces of narsty carpeting stuff that was in the apartment. This freed up enough space so I could
- move the TV set to the back porch, and roll up the carpeting that was in the living room. Ah, floor! Hardwood floor underneath!
- Threw bags of garbage out - detritus of previous tenants, as well as paper towels and food packaging from me and Scott.
- grabbed the mop and the primer to take home with me.
Once home, I:
- Primed the window ledge in the shower, after scraping peeling paint off. The paint was getting gungy and stained, and I wanted to avoid an issue with the landlady by making it look as pretty as possible. Casualty: sleeve of my sweater, dammit.
- Mopped the kitchen floor with some of a brand new bottle of Pine Sol.
- Also bought dye, and will attempt to dye curtains for the new place. Navy blue over peach cotton blend. It's an experiment!
- Packed a few boxes
- Bought a cheap-ass candle from the same place I got the dye, yeah? French Vanilla Coffee, and damn, it smells really good. I wanted to make sure to cover up the primer smell. Do I sound paranoid about this landlady? Well, you haven't met her.
- Swept rooms, fluffed bedding, sorted clean laundry into drawers, put dirty laundry into now-empty laundry duffels.
Little baby steps, man. I even sent off a box of books to my good pal Sharlene, which I'd been meaning to do for oh, *mumbletwoyearsmumble*. I forgot to pick up a mail forwarding card, though. D'oh. I will try to fill one out tomorrow at the P.O. near work.
Tomorrow night I have houseguests, and I am really looking forward to it. I think it'll be fun, and a needed respite from all of this. And then it's back to the grind again, until Sunday. We'll see.
