Nov. 24th, 2002 10:15 pmIt felt very good to sit on top of the old TV set in the living room of the new apartment and gab with my friend Sam about some of the strange interactions I've had with people lately.
I sometimes feel like this breakup from Scott has opened some sort of Pandora's box, and here I am, deluged in a time warp of missed opportunities and emotions and a button stuck on fast-forward. Maybe it's just the moving stress, but it's almost like I've just bitten off more than I can chew.
There's so much I want to hold close to me and savor, and it just doesn't seem like there's time enough. I want instant gratification, I want perfection in that mirror.
The thermostat had been punched down by me the day before, but when I entered the new apartment today with more boxes (thank goodness for my mom and Sam helping me), a wave of heat met me. Yow, I forgot how good radiated heat was. I left the door wide open for a good half hour as Sam and I gabbed, and the place was still a sauna by the time we left.
Khyber Pass was our destination for dinner. We dined from the buffet as the snow fell outside and stuck a little bit. The waiter poured me extra rose milk out of the pitcher. The saag paneer was especially zingy tonight, and I liked it.
I am sleepy and stressed and Indian food blissed and snarky and calm and filled up with music and crushing and busy and ready ready ready for the next bit to happen.
