I can't even be a proper girly girl, I've decided. The cheap-ass plastic caps for the ends of my eyeliner sticks and lipstick sticks (heh) always crack and then don't stay on, and so I just spent an annoying several minutes taking one of the gazillion McDonald's napkins my predecessor left me in a desk drawer to wipe smears and gobs of dark burgundy lipstick off of my perfume vial, my chapstick, my dental floss ...

I just shove everything into one compartment in my purse, you know?

Hey, being a girly girl takes skill. :D How much of what you carry do you actually use throughout the day? Can you travel lighter?

I'm no girliegirl, but I carry a lot of stuff in my backpack, and it has a tendency to pick up dust and gunk, and floss unravels, and stuff pops open and etc.

The way I handled it, I learned from my camper friend. Those ziploc bags, with the BIG zipper on top. Get the freezer ones so they're thicker and don't break, but toss your floss and stuff in there. Sure, you have an extra bag to open, but it waterproofs and segments your supplies.

A-ha! See, I had a makeup bag to put some of that stuff in, but it made my purse bulkier and then some, so I got rid of it and just opted for loose makeup/stuff in the middle zipped pocket in the purse.

I don't actually use much makeup at all in my free time, but at work I often have to sit at the front desk, and so societal niceties require that I at least cover up the baggage under my eyes.

But is it so much to ask for that they make more durable caps to put on these implements? I tell you what!

That's a pretty good idea! And I would probably use that idea, except for the fact that even inside of a bag, segregated from all other items in my purse, this lipstick pencil can still goop all over itself, and really, then, what's the point? Bah! Like I said above, why can't they just make more durable makeup stuff? Bastards.

Plus, isn't the bag all crinkly? And won't I look like the OCD nerdy girl, with my Ziploc bags? I mean, this is only the road to madness, you see. I will soon have to purchase day-of-the-week pill containers, a tiny change holder with different brackets to hold each denomination of coin, and a mini file folder with which I shall hold all my coupons for cat food, cat toys, and kitty litter, for I shall become a crazy old cat lady before I am 30.

When you get the stuff neatly in the ziploc, compress the air out, zip it, and fold the excess bag over, it makes it so your girliesupplies don't rattle around, and you have a smaller chance of things catching and pulling caps off. It compacts your compacts.

The bag can get crinkly with time, but you've got a box of 20some, so swap out as needed. Or make a few of them with different packages of colors and grab new ones depending on your mood.
Yes, you will be OCDgirl. But I'll lub you anyway. Or, at least, I would if I didn't have to touch you.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go get a fresh bar of soap and wash my hands.

Ugh, segmented purse structures. Too organized for me. I can relate ;)
