(no subject)

I need to get to bed, as I know I am tired (currently wired from a weird second wind), but today was a good, good day.

A mini road-trip to Charlotte (I've never really been there before, other than stop-overs on the way back to Raleigh when I was commuting to CA) with Chad and Melissa, mostly to shop at IKEA. We met up with Matt there, and I had swedish meatballs for lunch and learned of the loveliness of lingonberry drink mixed with Pepsi. We walked every aisle of the store, and I walked out with OF COURSE more tea lights, and some wooden hangers, and a teeny lamp to bring with me to work for when it gets dark, and then there was dinner and beer at the Flying Saucer and then Lego Rock Band with Matt's fiancee Abby, and then more driving, and then me sitting in my cold car, waiting forever for it to warm up before zipping on home, arms full of lingonberry preserves and two large soup bowls and batteries and OK now I am tired so I am going to crawl into bed where there are layers of blankets and pillows and I will soon drown in warmth and REM.
