Aug. 6th, 2006 04:46 pmI was originally supposed to meet up with Pam and Ben at the Retro Fest today, which actually sounded like a lot of fun. Pam even had a birthday gift for me, which was awfully sweet. However, the day dawned grey and threatening to rain, so they e-mailed to say that they wouldn't be coming in after all.
Of course, the weather's beautiful now, and has been for a few hours, but with the way things have been lately, there's really no good way of knowing if we would've gotten drenched or not. Ah well, we'll get back to Kitsch'n some other time.
In short, my day: laptop + external hard drive = effortless e-mail porting.
And an Inbox that went from 8,000+ messages down to below 600. I am really sort of chomping at the bit to bring back some of the mailboxes from two older computers. I can only imagine the crazy Cloudmakers/Lockjaw/ARG stuff trapped on those machines. Tiny little glowing nuggets of nostalgia, ones and zeroes for the Id.
I've been detoxing a bit from processed sugar the past couple days, too: raw sugar in my coffee, and all other sweetness from fresh fruits. I just had some cold cherries from the fridge that were pretty damned good. Perhaps later I'll have a mango, or make a smoothie with some mango and strawberry. That might be nice.
