(3) My domestic partner/husband/spouse and I have been together for over 12 years, which is 36 in straight years.

My friend Jon made a list of 50 things about himself. He's one of the few people who can do this sort of meme and keep me interested, especially because of how funny item number three is. Jon is quirky and so funny and shows his love in so many different ways. I suppose I might be biased in that I also appear in the list in two consecutive items. Speaking of which, it might be interesting to note that for item number six, not only did this other friend eventually come out, but I did, too. In our group of friends in high school, we sort of cornered the queer closeted dating market, which is funny and perhaps not all that surprising. Also, I went to college with his husband. Tom and I worked on a bunch of theatre productions together, and got happily drunk at many parties, which also including his tendency to nuzzle my neck a lot.

I've known Jon for ... 20 years? Is that right? We first interacted the summer before I started high school - the summer school program at O.P.R.F. allowed incoming freshmen to take courses, and one of the most popular at that time was the Musical Workshop. That year, we did Oliver. I think that was 1987. So, yeah. Jon and I have been alternately getting on each others' nerves, making mix tapes for each other, dating, gossiping, and supporting each others' crazy decisions for nearly twenty years.

Man. That's so cool.



What's also great about his journal is that because I've known him for so many years, it's nice to read his blog alongside old-skool online journaler Pamie, and Kristen (comma actress comma sugar nostril comma cookie sharer comma friend comma comma comma comma comma chameleon) to get that full L.A. flava.
