Story Lady
May. 1st, 2006 07:15 pmOne of the bits I get to do this coming weekend is from a series of short fairy tale re-tellings by a character named Story Lady. The only piece of direction I got from Pam was, "This is the best fairy tale you've ever told! It is all sweetness and light!"
Here's one:
Here's one:
ANNOUNCER: Once again, boys and girls, it's time for "The Story Lady."
STORY LADY: Today's story is one that I call Pinocchio.

STORY LADY: Once upon a time there was a lonely puppet maker named Gepetto. One day he made an extra special puppet - a little boy, whom he named Pinocchio, after a movie he once saw. Gepetto so loved the little puppet, that he wished it would become a real boy. And one night, a good witch came and waved her wand over Pinocchio. The next morning, Gepetto awoke to find that Pinocchio was a real boy, but unfortunately also a pathological liar. The witch then told Pinocchio that every time he told a lie, his nose would grow longer and longer.
The story does have a happy ending. Pinocchio went to this doctor in Cleveland and got a terrific nose job. He then changed his name, and is now a United States Senator.
ANNOUNCER: Thank you, Story Lady. Be listening next time, boys and girls, when The Story Lady explains "How Chain Smoking Can Help Your Health."
