So, Woody called last night while I was on the phone with Jinxie, and his one word message was, "TOMORROW!" I returned his call, and we started the weekend festivities early by working ourselves up into a laughing fit that left us both abdominally cramped and wiping tears from our eyes. I dunno what it is about him, or me, but our laughs are incredible infectious to each other, and we've ended up in countless fits of laughter during Halo 2 games online, and in person.

I'm gonna hop on that plane today and see some of my most favorite people in the whole, wide world. We'll be participating in the final event for Last Call Poker - a wake for Lionel "Lucky" Brown, playing Tombstone Hold 'Em in a graveyard.

Wacky hijinx are the only thing on my To Do list that needs doing, at this point.

Here's crossing fingers I can find some great pocket cards. If you know what I mean. And I think you do.

I took the long way to work today.

Instead of driving over to the nearest train stop, taking a train, and walking a half mile to work, I instead took the bus allllllllll the way east and then hopped onto a different train line to work.

You'd think the former route was a longer commute, but it's really not.

However, since I am toting luggage, it made sense to take the route with the least amount of navigating crowded sidewalks, and the Brown line essentially deposits me at my office doorstep. Easy peasy.

Surprisingly, despite almost sleeping past my stop to get off the bus for the train (to the amusement of the girl sitting right across from me), I not only got on the color line I wanted (Brown, instead of Purple, which takes me the long way 'round the Loop to my stop), but there was a seat available. I totally grabbed that freaking seat, and dozed a few more minutes with my new tiny wheely case tucked close to my legs.

Hilariously, a bunch of African-American kids got on from the Red line transfer at Fullerton, and one of them said, "Oh ho! I can see it's gonna be a White Christmas!" as he very obviously eyeballed the car full of yuppies. "It smells like Cub fans in here!!" They were off the train a stop or two later, but it was a good inner laugh for the morning.

I realized right around then, as one woman moved to sit next to her friend, that I actually knew her, and her friend, who was actually her boyfriend. Who was actually her fiance, as they've gotten engaged since I saw them last. So I caught up with Dana and Bilal, and got to regale them with amazingly concise (pre-coffee) summaries of ARG stuff, and why I was heading to L.A.

And now I am at work, and very very sleepy, but feeling a bit more up than usual.

Adventures suit me very well.
