entelein: (wrapped in grey)
We've all had those moments of utter confusion upon waking: you think to yourself that AM and PM have been flipped over, and you've actually been asleep for 14 hours instead of 2. When I first woke up, it was 8:19 on the glowing digital display, and I thought for a good five minutes as I came to, that today was going to be so gloomy and cloudy, as it was so dark and blue throughout the apartment. It wasn't until I stumbled to my computer and actually moused over the clock in the system tray that I saw it was still the previous day. The gloomy darkness was actually a pretty blue summery dusk falling over Chicago.

I went back to bed. Awoke at 2.

Awoke at 2, mind you, having slept more in one nap than in any two nights combined from the last week. So I stayed up a bit, worried I'd be up up up all night from screwing up my own circadian rhythms, but then I went back to bed.

Awoke around 7 AM, with Squeaky gently reaching out a paw and touching my chin, purring all the while.

I feel weird and left out and flat and a tiny bit sullen. I'm throwing myself into some website organization as a means of distraction, and it's starting to work, a little bit. June of 1999, re-named and tidied just a bit, to be plopped back into the eye of the internets, for consumption once more. Someday I'll restore all of it. One month at a time.
