Mar. 26th, 2005 08:13 amQuite grey today.
Slept REALLY well. I cracked the window open, and slept in the cold all night, pulling all the cushions off the couch so that even though my legs were still a bit cramped, I was able to curl up and punch pillows into submission and pull the very soft sleeping bag over me and sleep the sleep of the soundly dead. Oh, yes. It got so chilly that when Andy came by in the morning to wake me, he said, "It's FREEZING in here!!" and immediately shut the window. "Mmm," I said, and as I sat up, I realized most of the worst neck pain was totally gone. Yes!
I think I just needed to get indoor conditions as close to Chicago as possible, see. I am not used to keeping my apartment all that warm at home, and so the coolness probably helped me sleep, big time. We watched some more Black Adder, and an episode of Spaced, which tickled me cos the Bluetones were in it, as extras, and then sitting with the main characters at the pub at the end. What an odd show.
Andy and I headed into town to the Illicit Still and had a proper Scottish breakfast, which included a serving of haggis. I didn't hate it! It was alright, actually. Yes, I know what it consists of. Ah well, you know? It was a good breakfast, otherwise, and I got to meet Bex and Kimmy, and her sister Leslie, and Jamie. Kimmy's part of the production staff for Andy's play, and Bex and Jamie are fellow actors. After, just me and Andy headed off and did some shopping, where I spotted a Lush shop and spent probably around $50 on various soaps and things.
I. bought. hair. glitter.
Yessssssss.
Everything is really grey and rainy today - got a bit damp with misty drizzle as we walked around town. I am not taking nearly enough photos, but everyone likes to walk so fast, and always seems a little ... impatient with me acting like a tourist, so I am not being brave about it and taking photos anyway. Got a really lame shot of a William Wallace statue, woo hoo. Sigh. Lame.
So, we're now back at the flat, and I have an extremely fragrant bag of happiness sitting near my feet, and Andy's got to leave soon for call for his show.
He keeps apologizing for not having much to do, but I dunno. I feel like the days have been full and busy, even if I am not exactly seeing 3 castles per minutes, or lifting countless pints and staggering home in the wee hours every single evening. Perhaps Edinburgh on Monday? Yeah, perhaps. We're gonna try.
