I have my new machine hooked up at home again, as it was sitting on Tom's back porch doing mostly nothing except looking like a decorative lump covered in a tie-dyed sheet.

Ahhhh, it is a nice machine. Needs a bit more RAM, but other than that, I am one happy girl.

Tears for Fears MP3s, do you say? Quite, quite.

I managed not to snarl disgracefully at anyone while out shopping today. I returned the too-small blinds I got a few weeks ago and bought better-sized ones.

Got a haircut, too, for what it's worth. The woman who cut my hair looked an awful lot like Tootsie.

There was a fine powder of snow falling and whisking about today - hardly anything to get upset about. This winter weather has been insanely mild, and living in the hottest apartment in Chicago has really made the whole thing seem sort of unseasonal. I am used to apartments with freezing floors and chilly air, drafts blowing from windows. Instead, I am sleepy and hot-cheeked and drowsy from the radiated heat making this place practically into a sauna.

Tomorrow is laundry and paying bills, ho hum. But then I get to pick Svetlana up from work and go out and be gorgeous out on the town or something.
