Domestic Goddess and Gamer Girl:

I just used my Nintendo DS as a kitchen timer, as I am baking some savory tomato and tofu in a casserole dish.

Nicely done. I wish my culinary utilities could play cel shaded RPGs. [sigh]
I use my phone as a kitchen timer - sadly it's a better timer than it is a phone [glares in the general direction of kyocera]

I used firm tofu.

Preheat oven to 350°.

Slice in 3/4 inch-thick slices, lay in casserole dish. Layer tomato slices across the top. In a separate pan, melt butter, and mix with some finely-diced onion and pressed garlic. Season tomato slice and tofu with a pinch of salt, a pinch of sugar, pepper, cumin, or whatever other spices you like to season veggies/meats with.

Drizzle butter/onion/garlic mixture over tofu/tomato. If I had had cheese, would've then done a mozarella cheese on top of the tomato slices, or maybe a bit of sharp cheddar, or parmesan. As it was, I just went without.

Bake for 30-45 minutes, checking to make sure tomatoes don't get burnt, nor the tofu. :)

Thanks!!! I'll have to try it sometime!

I also press the tofu for a good twenty minutes beforehand, for something like baking. I sit the entire block on a plate with raised edges, and then lay a paper towel over it, and then set 3 or 4 more dinner plates on top. I'll drain the water 2-3 times during the course of pressing.
