WANTED: teddy bear

The snow has indeed melted and mostly dried up, but even though there's some sun out there, the air is still biting cold.

I now have: Zicam (popped one tablet already - yukko), Halls vitamin C thingers (which I love), some caramels to share with mom on the plane, and a couple of makeup items that needed renewing. I told my co workers to make bets on whether I would collapse on the walk to Walgreens.

I can definitely feel a change in my temperament and the soreness in my throat - I am hoping it's the Zicam, because something has to make those chalky grainy tablets worth it. Man.

I like the Zicam nasal spray better than the tablets..those taste horrible! And metallic. You don't get that effect with the nasal spray.

I've been sneezing so much that the thought of spraying mist up me nose was a little more than I could handle.

That's why I think the rum works out so well for me, as additional treatment for my condition.

It's not a mist though, it's a gel. You don't breathe it in, you just spray it on the sides of your nostrils, hold your nose shut for 30 seconds, then blow it out.

I suppose if you drink enough rum, you really won't care if you're sick. :)

Same here: I like the gel. Every 4 hours, you squirt a tiny bit into each nostril, and gently press your nose closed for a few seconds. And, uh... I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to blow it out.

It says to wait at least 30 seconds before blowing your nose. So after that point, you're safe to blow the remains out. At least that's what it used to say...I've been using it for a few years now.

if you are looking for something more disgusting rather than soothing (and I know you are), you can always snort salt water.

Ah! The silver bullet approach, where the cure may be worse than the actual disease! It does really work, I guess, but... ugg.

You can borrow mine
